What style of food is served at The Herb Garden?

The Herb Garden Restaurant specialises in modern English cuisine. This is similar to Noveau Cuisine, with the difference that it is based on original English dishes, and that you get a decent amount of food on the plate!

What will the food be like?

At Lunch times, we offer everything from hearty winter dishes to pasta and panninis. The Evening bring in more intricate dishes based around the superb local produce. Who runs The Herb Garden Restaurant?

The restaurant is owned and managed by Darren and Coralie. Darren, the Chef, has considerable experience working with great chefs like Robbie Macrae at the Royal Oak in Yattendon, and at Langhams in London. He won the title of Dining Pub of the Year in 1997 as Head Chef at The Harrow in East Illsley, Berkshire. Coralie is fully qualified in restaurant management and experienced in running the 'front of house'.

Do you allow children into the restaurant?

Well, we have one of our own, so yes! In fact we are pleased to offer most of our dishes in child / small appetite portions. Just ask about availability. Obviously, we request that the children don't run around, for safety reasons, and for the benefit of our other customers.

What special events do you have planned?

With food and wine being our passion, we are planning wine tasting and gourmet evenings during 2008. If you would like to be kept informed of forthcoming events, click Here to register your interest.

Do we need to book in advance?

Reserving a table always helps, but is not always necessary. Just call in and we will do our best to find you a table as quickly as we can.

When are you open?

We are open for Lunch and Dinner from Tuesdays to Saturdays, and also open for Sunday Lunch. We have a rest on Mondays!

Can you book me a taxi?

Yes indeed!

We now offer a full taxi booking service.

We can arrange a taxi for you and your party, direct from your door to our restaurant and home again.

And what is more, the cost of the taxi is added to your restaurant bill, so you don't even need to worry about carrying change for the fare!

This service is proving very popular, as it means everyone can have a drink or two!!

If you want a taxi, either tell us when you book, or if it's just one way, let us know when you get here that you require a taxi and we'll get one booked for the homeward journey.
